Cristiano Ronaldo has never lacked confidence, but his latest statements leave no room for debate—he firmly believes he is the greatest footballer of all time.
In an explosive interview with El Chiringuito, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made a series of bold claims about his legacy, his record-breaking career, and the current state of football’s most prestigious individual award.
“I’m the Most Complete Player EVER”
Ronaldo, who has shattered records throughout his career, emphasized his all-around ability, saying:
“I’m fast, I’m strong, [I score] with my header, with the left—no one has ever been more complete than me.”
He dismissed any notion that his game lacked versatility, adding:
“To say that Cristiano isn’t complete is a lie.”
Chasing 1,000 Goals—But Already the GOAT
With over 900 career goals, Ronaldo is within touching distance of an unprecedented 1,000-goal milestone. But for him, the number is irrelevant:
“If I finish on 920, 925 goals… it doesn’t matter to me at all. I AM THE BEST IN HISTORY. Period.”
Still, he admitted that reaching the four-digit mark would be special:
“If I reach 1,000 goals, great. If not, that’s fine too. Numbers don’t lie.”
Ballon d’Or Criticism: “Vini Jr Deserved It”
Ronaldo also weighed in on the Ballon d’Or debate, arguing that Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior should have won the 2024 award instead of Manchester City’s Rodri.
“I’m not surprised… not only because I didn’t win it or not, but because it lacks credibility,” he stated, pointing out that Vinícius “won the Champions League and scored goals.”
Forever a Madridista
Despite his spells at Manchester United, Juventus, and now Al Nassr, Ronaldo made it clear that his happiest days were in Madrid.
“I will always have Madrid in my heart, it was the team where I was happiest,” he confessed.
Reflecting on his historic nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, he added:
“I have done very important things there, very beautiful things. When you leave a legacy and a mark, people do not forget.”
