Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue, has endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama as the leader best equipped to guide Ghana through its economic challenges and initiate a path to sustainable growth.

Speaking at the opening of the National Economic Dialogue on March 3, 2025, Dr. Yamson emphasized the critical need for transformative leadership to address the country’s persistent economic issues. He specifically pointed to economic mismanagement and corruption as key factors impeding Ghana’s progress.

“Someone must reset Ghana, and it can only be you, John Dramani Mahama,” Dr. Yamson stated. He highlighted the role of strong, visionary leadership in driving economic transformation, citing global examples where individual leaders played pivotal roles in economic recovery.

Dr. Yamson called for bold action to break free from the stranglehold of poor governance and corruption, urging Mahama to take decisive steps to steer the nation back toward stable and resilient growth.

“It is time to liberate Ghana from economic mismanagement and corruption and to put the country on a trajectory of sustainable growth,” he said.
