The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it is fully prepared for the special voting scheduled for Monday, with over 130,000 officials, media personnel, and security officers set to cast their ballots.

Speaking at a press conference, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa stated that all preparations had been completed 72 hours in advance of the special voting.

Mensa also reiterated the Commission’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the upcoming elections, following reports of ballot paper shortages in the Bono and Volta Regions. The EC clarified that the discrepancies were identified through routine verification processes by regional staff, a standard procedure to ensure the accuracy of ballot paper printing and distribution.

In a memo to political parties and printing houses, the EC emphasised that this additional verification step was vital to address any issues ahead of Election Day.
