Empress Gifty Pays Heartfelt Tribute as Mother Evangelist Agnes Annan is Laid to Rest

Gospel singer and TV host Empress Gifty Adorye recently bid an emotional farewell to her beloved mother, Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, at a moving funeral ceremony held on January 18, 2025, in Tema.

The ceremony was a deeply emotional moment for the singer, who honored her late mother with a tribute in the form of a powerful song. The funeral was attended by a wide array of figures from the gospel music world, as well as political and religious leaders, who gathered to support Empress Gifty during this difficult time.

Prominent attendees included Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen, Assemblies of God Church General Superintendent Rev. Stephen Wengam, and renowned businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, who all paid their respects.

The event also featured soul-stirring performances from gospel icons Diana Hamilton, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Broda Sammy, and Diana Asamoah, as well as Highlife star Kofi Kinaata, who brought the crowd to their feet with his touching performance.

Empress Gifty’s tribute and the heartfelt celebrations of her mother’s life reflected the deep love and respect she had for Evangelist Agnes Annan, as well as the tight-knit bond within the gospel music community.
