In a surprising turn of events, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, the former Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, has withdrawn her legal challenge against the termination of her appointment by President John Mahama. The move follows a high-stakes meeting held on February 6, 2025, where both parties reached a resolution to settle the matter out of court.

Sources close to the situation revealed that as part of the settlement, Duah-Yentumi also decided to drop her lawsuit contesting the appointment of James Agyenim-Boateng as the company’s new Managing Director. The former MD had initially filed a suit on February 4, accusing SIC Insurance and its new Acting MD of unfairly terminating her contract, which was set to run until January 2028. Duah-Yentumi argued that any changes to her tenure should have been approved by the company’s board or through a shareholders’ resolution.

With the lawsuit now behind her, both Duah-Yentumi and SIC Insurance are expected to finalize the terms of their settlement outside the courtroom. The resolution marks the end of a contentious legal battle and paves the way for the company’s leadership transition to proceed without further dispute.
