Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, the former Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, has filed a lawsuit against the company and its newly appointed CEO, James Agyenim-Boateng, following her dismissal and replacement.

Duah-Yentumi’s legal action comes after President John Dramani Mahama announced on January 27 that Agyenim-Boateng would succeed her as the company’s MD. However, Duah-Yentumi has contested the appointment in a suit filed on February 4, arguing that her contract guarantees her position until January 1, 2028, unless mutually agreed otherwise by the board of directors.

The former MD claims that, under her employment agreement, her role can only be terminated by the company’s board or through a decision by shareholders at an Annual General Meeting. As a result, she is seeking a court ruling to declare her termination unlawful and to block Agyenim-Boateng’s appointment.

Duah-Yentumi is also requesting compensation for the remainder of her contract, including her full salary and benefits.
