Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur has been officially appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), with a focus on boosting Ghana’s export competitiveness and supporting President John Mahama’s goal of export-led growth.

At a handing-over ceremony on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Kwarteng Arthur outlined his vision to drive forward policies aimed at expanding non-traditional exports and enhancing Ghana’s standing in global markets. He highlighted the importance of collaboration among staff in achieving these objectives.

He also praised the outgoing CEO, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare I, and the GEPA team for their efforts during her tenure, acknowledging their contributions to the sector.

In her farewell address, Dr. Asare expressed her thanks to the management and staff for their support throughout her time at the helm and encouraged continued commitment to GEPA’s long-term goals under the new leadership.

Kwarteng Arthur’s appointment comes as Ghana seeks to diversify its export portfolio and take full advantage of opportunities offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His leadership is expected to focus on strengthening trade partnerships, improving market access, and increasing value addition in key export sectors.
