John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of Ghana’s opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), will address the nation tonight, promising a “reset” to restore good governance and accountability. The address is set for 7:30 pm local time.

In a statement posted Thursday morning on Facebook, Mahama stated, “The governance of our dear country Ghana is at a crossroads with injustice eating our society away, as our economy inflicts untold hardships on millions of suffering Ghanaians.”

He described the upcoming address, titled the Governance Forum, as an opportunity to lay out the NDC’s plans to improve accountability and tackle the pressing issues facing the country. Mahama emphasized the urgent need for reform, stating his commitment to resetting Ghana for a fairer, more transparent future.

The speech will be closely watched amid mounting criticism of the government’s handling of the economy and governance.
