The Ghana Society of Perioperative Nurses (GHASPON) concludes its first-ever week-long celebration, highlighting unity and collaboration among healthcare professionals in Accra.

Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Society of Perioperative Nurses (GHASPON) recently celebrated its week-long event, themed “Unite,” which underscored the collaborative spirit of healthcare professionals across Greater Accra. Held at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital’s Family Medicine Conference Room, this event gathered professionals from leading institutions to strengthen perioperative care through shared expertise.

Leading Hospitals Come Together

The event featured representatives from prominent hospitals, including Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, University of Ghana Medical Centre, Tema General Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Trust Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, Mamprobi Hospital, Akawe Hospital, Achimota Hospital, Lista Hospital, and Focus Hospital. Each hospital shared insights into its surgical procedures, facility highlights, and achievements, fostering a supportive environment for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Notable Speakers and Key Takeaways

Mrs. Gifty Aryee, Head of Nursing at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, graced the event, which reinforced GHASPON’s role in advancing perioperative care across the region. In a post-event interview, Naval Lieutenant Abigail Willson Agyei expressed her excitement about the successful launch, highlighting the need for increased sponsorship to support future GHASPON initiatives.
