The Ghanaian government has approved a 10% wage increase for public sector employees, following successful negotiations between labor unions and President John Dramani Mahama.

This marks the second wage adjustment in less than a year, with the latest increase coming after a 23% adjustment in 2024 aimed at offsetting the impact of rising living costs.

The wage hike, which will take effect on March 1, 2025, was personally endorsed by President Mahama during discussions with union representatives, emphasizing the government’s commitment to alleviating financial pressures amid ongoing economic challenges.

Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Rashid Pelpuo, confirmed the new adjustment in a statement, noting that the increase is expected to provide significant relief to public sector employees.
