Isaac Adongo appointed Chair of Finance Committee, Abena Osei-Asare to Lead PAC

Parliament has made significant moves to strengthen its legislative oversight with the announcement of new leadership for several influential committees.

Abena Osei-Asare has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), succeeding James Avedzi. As head of the PAC, Osei-Asare will now be at the forefront of scrutinizing government financial expenditures and ensuring the accountability of public funds.

In another major development, Isaac Adongo, the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, has been named the new Chairman of the Finance Committee. Adongo, known for his expertise in economic and fiscal matters, will lead the committee in reviewing the national budget, tax policies, and other critical financial issues.

Additionally, Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng will take the reins as Chairman of the Budget Committee, which plays a crucial role in overseeing the preparation and implementation of the national budget.

These appointments underscore Parliament’s continued efforts to strengthen governance and accountability in the country.
