Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Mr.Okraku, who filed his nomination earlier this year, ran unopposed for the seat as the representative of WAFU Zone B. As a result, he will serve a four-year term from 2025 to 2029 on the 24-member committee, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of African football.

Mr.Okraku, who became GFA president in October 2019, later took over as head of WAFU Zone B in 2023. His new position strengthens Ghana’s influence in key football decision-making forums and provides an opportunity for the GFA to advocate for reforms and development within African football.

He follows in the footsteps of prominent Ghanaian figures such as Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi, who have previously served on the CAF Executive Committee.
