Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has refuted claims that actress Joselyn Dumas has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.

The reports, which emerged on March 2, 2025, suggested that the actress had secured a government role within President John Mahama’s administration. However, speaking on Joy FM, Ofosu clarified that while several other figures from the creative arts sector had been appointed to various positions, Dumas was not among them.

“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm that of the rest,” he said.

In recent weeks, a number of notable industry personalities have received government appointments, including Kafui Danku as Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, James Gardiner as Deputy Executive Secretary of the same body, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) as Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Rex Omar as Coordinator of the Black Star Experience, and Abeiku Santana as Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
