Ghanaian actor Richard Kweku Asante, widely known as Kalybos, has opened up about the end of his five-year relationship with ex-girlfriend Frimpongmaa.

Speaking on the Girl’s Aloud podcast, Kalybos explained that despite the length of the relationship, they eventually went their separate ways, stating, “Being in a relationship for a longer period doesn’t mean you have to settle with the person no matter what.” He added that when things do not go as desired, sometimes the best choice is to move on.

When pressed by one of the hosts about whether things were not working out with Frimpongmaa, Kalybos confirmed, “No, it wasn’t.”

Kalybos recently celebrated his first wedding anniversary with wife Antwiwaa Owusu Asante. Posting on Instagram on November 11, the actor shared a heartfelt message marking the milestone. “11:11 is a YEAR OLD today. Happy Anniversary to us, My Mrs Owusu Asante,” he wrote, accompanied by photos of the couple. “May this special day be a reminder of all the beautiful moments you’ve shared and a celebration of the journey ahead. Wishing you endless love, laughter, and happiness in the years to come!”

The post concluded with a touching message: “Here’s to the beautiful memories we’ve made and the many more to come. I love you more than words can express.”
