John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of running a covert fake news campaign designed to damage his reputation ahead of the 2024 elections.

During a campaign visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the Ashanti Region on December 3, Mahama claimed that misinformation was being spread to undermine his credibility.

He dismissed allegations linking him to an attack on his convoy in Techiman as baseless and intended to create division. Mahama reiterated his commitment to a peaceful campaign and called for credible, transparent elections, urging stakeholders to prioritize national unity.
