 Mahama appoints Ablakwa for Foreign Affairs,Omane Boamah for Defence

President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled his third round of ministerial appointments, positioning key figures in critical ministries as part of his government’s development agenda.

In a statement released by the presidency on January 21, 2025, President Mahama named Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as the new Minister for Defence, and Samuel Nartey George to lead the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.

The latest appointments also include Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Kofi Adams to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, and Abdul-Rashid H. Pelpuo as Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has been appointed as the Minister for Health, while Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa will take on the role of Minister for Foreign Affairs.

These strategic appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening key sectors with experienced leaders capable of driving Ghana’s development. The selections are expected to contribute significantly to the government’s policy objectives.
