President John Dramani Mahama has named Adam Mutawakilu as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Water Company Limited, effective immediately.

The announcement was made in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, PhD, the Secretary to the President. According to the letter, Mutawakilu’s appointment aligns with Article 195(1) of Ghana’s Constitution, which grants the President the authority to appoint the CEO of state-owned enterprises.

The appointment, however, is subject to receiving formal advice from the Ghana Water Company’s governing board and consultation with the Public Services Commission.

In his letter, President Mahama congratulated Mutawakilu on the appointment and requested that he formally accept the position within fourteen days of receiving the letter.
