Mahama Appoints Edward Bawa as Acting CEO of GNPC

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edward Bawa as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), effective Friday, January 17, 2025.

The appointment, made in accordance with the Constitution and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Act, is pending the necessary advice from the Minister for Energy and consultation with the Public Services Commission.

In a formal letter, President Mahama congratulated Bawa, the former MP for Bongo, and expressed his confidence in his leadership for the GNPC. The announcement was made by Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President.
