President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo as the acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana, effective from January 22, 2025.
The appointment, made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 67 of the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721), is temporary. It is subject to the receipt of advice from the Gaming Commission’s governing Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Mr. Quainoo, who received the appointment letter on January 22, 2025, has been asked to confirm his acceptance within 14 days. The letter, signed by President Mahama’s Secretary, Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., conveyed the President’s best wishes.
The Gaming Commission is tasked with regulating and monitoring Ghana’s gaming industry, which includes casinos, sports betting, and lotteries.
