President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Charles Kraikue from his position as Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), effective immediately. In a formal communiqué dated April 2, 2025, the President’s Secretary, Dr. Callistus Mahama, informed Kraikue that his duties would be transferred to Stephen Wilfred Arthur, who has been appointed as Acting Director-General.

The statement, which did not provide specific reasons for the dismissal, included a note of appreciation for Kraikue’s service to the nation. “The President extends his gratitude for your service to the nation,” the communication read.

The change in leadership comes amid ongoing restructuring efforts within key government agencies. Arthur, who steps into the acting role, is expected to oversee a smooth transition at the authority as the government continues its reorganization of key institutions.
