President John Dramani Mahama has urged members of Ghana’s newly sworn-in Armed Forces Council to carry out their duties with wisdom, integrity, and a strong dedication to national service. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, March 24, the President highlighted the pivotal role the council plays in maintaining national stability and ensuring the professionalism of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Mahama emphasized the significant impact the council’s decisions will have on the country’s defense strategy and the overall well-being of the military. He reminded the members of their responsibility to safeguard the peace that Ghana has enjoyed, urging them to stay proactive in identifying and addressing emerging security threats.

Acknowledging the evolving nature of global security challenges, including terrorism, cybercrime, and political instability, Mahama stressed the importance of the Armed Forces Council remaining vigilant and forward-thinking in its approach to defense. “The decisions you make will shape the future of our Armed Forces, and it is vital that you approach your responsibilities with both wisdom and integrity,” he stated.
