Madina MP Francis Xavier Sosu has released a new single, Grace for Race, sharing his personal journey of overcoming life’s struggles ahead of Ghana’s December 7 general elections.

The legislator, who performs under the stage name “Son of Grace” (SOG), detailed his inspirational rise from a difficult childhood. He recounted his time living on the streets and hustling at Malam Atta Market, where he pushed vehicles and carried cargo, to eventually becoming a lawyer and Member of Parliament.

Sosu described his transformation as a testament to “the work of extraordinary grace” and said the song carries a powerful message: “There is GRACE for the RACE.” This is his first musical release in 24 years.

The release has drawn mixed reactions on social media. While some applauded the MP for sharing his story and using it to inspire others, others expressed skepticism.

One user on X, formerly Twitter, commented: “Thanks. I’ve listened and it’s very inspirational. It gives me hope and faith.”

Sosu, who is seeking re-election, hopes the song will encourage others to persevere in the face of adversity and recognize the role of grace in overcoming challenges.
