Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has categorically denied authorizing any payments to contractors, including outspoken businessman and politician Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

In a social media post, Dr. Forson stated that since assuming office, no contractor has been paid “a pesewa” as the government undertakes a thorough review of all contracts and payment requests. The review aims to verify the legitimacy of claims before disbursing funds, ensuring financial prudence and transparency.

His remarks come amidst widespread speculation that payments had been made to Mr. Agyapong, a well-known contractor and Member of Parliament. Dr. Forson urged the public to disregard such claims, emphasizing his commitment to due diligence and responsible fiscal management.
