NPP Election Defeat: investigative committee submits report to party leadership

A 12-member committee tasked with investigating the National Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in Ghana’s 2024 general elections has formally presented its findings to the party’s national leadership.

The report was handed over on Wednesday, 16 April, during a closed-door event held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Committee chair, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, led the presentation of the document, which aims to shed light on the reasons behind the party’s electoral defeat and propose measures to prevent similar outcomes in future polls.

Prominent figures within the party, including former President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and General Secretary Justin Kodua were all in attendance.

Following the presentation, Professor Oquaye declined to comment publicly on the contents of the report. The party has yet to release the findings to the public.
