Obuobia Darko-Opoku has been appointed as the Acting Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), a significant role she described as both an honor and a call to serve.
In a statement following the announcement, Madam Darko-Opoku expressed her gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, thanking him for his trust and confidence in her ability to take on this new position.
“I am deeply honored, sir,” she said, acknowledging Mahama’s support.
Madam Darko-Opoku highlighted the pivotal role of the GACL in Ghana’s economic growth, noting that the company is not only a gateway to the country but also a key driver of trade, tourism, and investment.
“The Ghana Airports Company Limited is essential to our economic and infrastructural development, acting as a gateway to our beautiful country,” she added.
Taking on her new responsibility, Darko-Opoku pledged to work closely with her colleagues to ensure that Ghana’s airports continue to offer world-class services, efficiency, and exceptional customer experiences.
“I fully understand the immense responsibility of this role and am committed to working alongside my team to uphold the highest standards at our airports,” she affirmed.
Madam Darko-Opoku also vowed to support the vision of President Mahama in advancing Ghana’s aviation sector, aiming to enhance the country’s global competitiveness.
“Together, we will bring life to President Mahama’s vision and elevate Ghana’s aviation industry to even greater heights,” she concluded.
