Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has vowed to take legal action against members of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee if his name or properties appear in their investigations.

Afenyo-Markin’s warning follows reports that a property he has owned since 2006 was examined as part of the ORAL operation. The committee submitted its findings to President John Dramani Mahama on February 10, and the Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, is expected to recommend the prosecution of individuals named in the report.

Speaking on Joy News on Wednesday, February 19, Afenyo-Markin stated, “I will sue them. I will sue them. If I see anything inconsistent with the law, I will sue them. I will sue individual personalities. I will sue each one of them. I will sue for the law to remedy the situation.”

The Minority Leader also accused the committee of flying drones over his property, which borders the Police Academy, in an attempt to wrongly link it to state land. He explained that while his property shares a boundary with the academy, it is legally his, and he criticized the committee for what he described as an unwarranted invasion of his privacy.

Afenyo-Markin further accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of using the ORAL Committee to target political opponents rather than focusing on governance. He argued that the NDC should prioritize fulfilling their electoral promises instead of attacking political figures like him.

“They’ve won the election with a four-year mandate. They should be focused on implementing their manifesto rather than coming after me,” he added.
