On February 4, Ghana’s Parliament approved five ministerial nominees, setting the stage for their formal appointment by President John Mahama. The approval followed a series of discussions in the House, where lawmakers debated the credentials and potential impact of the nominees for several key portfolios.

The five approved individuals and their respective positions are as follows:

  1. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo – Minister Designate for the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment
  2. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed – Minister Designate for the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology
  3. Samuel Nartey George – Minister Designate for the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations
  4. Kofi Iddie Adams – Minister Designate for the Ministry of Sports and Recreation
  5. Joseph Bukari Nikpe – Minister Designate for the Ministry of Transport

The confirmations mark an important step as President Mahama prepares to reshuffle his cabinet to address the country’s economic and infrastructural challenges. These appointments come at a time when the government is seeking to implement policies in key sectors such as employment, technology, and transportation.
