Kofi Okyere-Darko, the Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Presidency, has called on Ghanaian media to dedicate at least 70% of their airplay to local music throughout March to mark Heritage Month.

Speaking at the launch of Heritage Month at Labadi Beach Hotel on Monday, 3 March 2025, Mr. Okyere-Darko emphasized the importance of celebrating and promoting Ghanaian culture. He described Heritage Month as a time for Ghanaians to express pride in their identity and heritage.

The Director highlighted the opportunity this month offers to boost the local music industry, urging the public and media alike to embrace and showcase Ghanaian talent. “We have an abundance of music that can sustain us throughout the entire month,” he said.

Mr. Okyere-Darko also encouraged citizens to use the occasion to reflect on the nation’s progress and the role everyone can play in its development. “Let’s all work together to build the country we envision,” he added.
