Police Detain 88 Individuals Allegedly Recruited for Election Security in Western North

The Ghana Police Service is investigating 88 individuals intercepted on two Metro Mass Transit buses in the Western North Region on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Preliminary investigations suggest the group was recruited by a man named Sammy from various locations in the Greater Accra Region, including Adenta, Oyarifa, and Madina, to provide security at polling stations in the Western North.

The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the inquiry. Authorities are also working to locate and apprehend Sammy, the alleged recruiter, as part of the ongoing investigation.
