Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has made a generous contribution to support the education of a young artist in Kumasi. During a visit to the city, Shatta Wale donated GH₵ 20,000 to 19-year-old Priscilla, who had presented him with a portrait of himself.
The donation, captured in a video shared by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, follows a conversation in which Priscilla revealed she had completed senior high school the previous year but was unable to further her education due to financial constraints. Her mother, who is struggling financially after the death of her husband three years ago, had advised her to wait until funds were available.
Shatta Wale, moved by her story, arranged for the donation and personally ensured that Priscilla’s mother received the funds. She expressed her gratitude, thanking the artist for his kindness.
“My husband passed away three years ago, so we are facing financial difficulties. I asked her to wait a little longer,” Priscilla’s mother said. “God bless you so much for this gesture.”
Sammy Flex, speaking on behalf of Shatta Wale, stressed that the money was intended solely for Priscilla’s education. “The money is not for clothes. It is for her education,” he said, urging Priscilla’s family to use the funds responsibly.
This latest act of generosity follows Shatta Wale’s recent initiative, the Accra Invasion Project, which aims to highlight and support emerging Ghanaian talent.
