Kwamina Asomaning, the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB). Asomaning takes over from John Kofi Adomakoh, who completed his term after stepping down from his role at GCB Bank Plc.
In a statement, GAB expressed gratitude to Adomakoh for his contributions to the banking industry during his tenure.
Highlighting Mr.Asomaning’s extensive experience in both international and local finance, the Association expressed confidence in his leadership abilities. GAB noted that Asomaning’s innovative approach and strategic leadership style position him well to strengthen collaboration within the banking sector, drive financial stability, and promote sustainable economic growth in Ghana.
Under Mr.Asomaning’s leadership, Stanbic Bank Ghana has garnered recognition for its customer-centric approach, innovative solutions, and commitment to sustainable banking practices.
The appointment also saw the re-election of Hakim Ouzzani, Managing Director of SG Ghana, as Vice President, and Henry Onwuzurigbo, Managing Director of Zenith Bank Ghana, who will continue serving as Treasurer. GAB members expressed their enthusiasm for working with Asomaning to further develop and enhance Ghana’s banking landscape.
