Standard Chartered Ghana Appoints Cynthia Lumor as Independent Non-Executive Director

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC has announced the appointment of Cynthia Anne Lumor as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board, effective from October 21, 2024.

A seasoned business leader known for her transformational approach, Lumor is expected to bring a fresh perspective and extensive experience to the board. Her appointment aims to support the bank’s strategic direction and reinforce its commitment to inclusive and innovative leadership.

Lumor has held senior roles in various sectors, including oil, gas, and telecommunications. She is currently Deputy Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Limited, where she has worked since 2017. She initially joined Tullow as Director of External Affairs and Social Performance, later advancing to Corporate Affairs Director, before taking on her current role in 2021. Prior to her time at Tullow, Lumor served as Corporate Services Executive at MTN Ghana and also held key positions at Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and AT&T, where she rose to become Director of Market Research and Analysis over a 19-year tenure.

Reflecting on her appointment, Lumor said, “Standard Chartered’s rich history and market leadership have always made it a remarkable institution. I look forward to applying my expertise to help advance the Bank’s ambitions.”

Ebenezer Twum Asante, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Standard Chartered Ghana, welcomed the appointment, stating, “Cynthia brings a wealth of experience to the board. Her commitment to innovation and sustainability will strengthen the board and further drive our strategic goals.”
