Ghana’s Embassy in Doha is calling on Ghanaians stranded in Qatar to urgently submit their travel information as authorities work to resolve disruptions caused by the temporary closure of the country’s airspace.
In a notice issued on March 12, 2026, the Embassy said the directive follows instructions from Qatari authorities after regular commercial flight operations were suspended, leaving several travellers unable to depart.

According to the Embassy, Ghanaians affected by the situation—particularly those holding valid Qatar Airways tickets—should immediately provide their details to help facilitate their eventual departure.
The appeal applies to travellers currently in transit through Doha as well as residents who were scheduled to leave the country but have been unable to do so due to the disruption.
Affected individuals are required to submit their full names, the biodata page of their passports, and copies of their flight tickets via email to doha@mfa.gov.gh.
“The Embassy of Ghana wishes to inform Ghanaians impacted by the closure of the airspace and suspension of regular commercial flights operations in Qatar that the host authorities have directed that Ghanaians with valid Qatar Airways tickets either in transit in Doha or residents awaiting their departures from Doha are kindly requested to furnish the Embassy with their names, biodata pages of their passports as well as copies of their tickets… to facilitate their departures from Doha to their respective destinations,” the statement said.
The Embassy added that the information will enable it to coordinate with the relevant authorities and airlines to organize arrangements for affected Ghanaian travellers to leave Doha once flight operations resume or alternative measures are put in place.
