The Electoral Commission (EC) has reminded all eligible special voters to cast their ballots on December 2, as their names will not appear on the voter register during the general election on December 7.

Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Commissioner in charge of Corporate Services at the EC, emphasized the importance of adhering to the designated date during an interview on The Big Issue on Monday, November 25.

“Special voting will take place on December 2 at 328 centres,” Dr. Asare said, adding that no single constituency will have more than 750 voters per centre. Centres exceeding that figure have been split to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.

The special voting exercise is part of preparations for the 2024 general elections. It allows security personnel, journalists, and election officials to vote ahead of the main polls to ensure smooth operations on election day.

Eligible voters have been urged to confirm their details and participate on the set date to avoid being disenfranchised.
