The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) after a delay caused by outstanding payments owed by the Ghanaian government.

Earlier, WAEC had stated that the results would be released by the end of December 2024, following the settlement of the arrears. In a statement on Monday, December 30, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John K. Kapi, confirmed the results were now available. School heads across the country will receive login details to access the results through the official website.

Kapi also warned the public to be vigilant against scammers who may exploit the situation, offering fraudulent results upgrades for a fee.

In the same statement, WAEC disclosed that it had canceled the subject results of 4,108 candidates and annulled the entire results of 483 candidates due to examination malpractices. Additionally, subject results for 781 candidates have been withheld, and the entire results of 209 candidates have been suspended. Further investigations are underway, with appropriate actions to follow once completed.
