Ghana’s new Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has called on staff at the Ministry of Finance to work together in steering the nation toward economic stability.

During his first meeting with the Ministry’s Senior Management staff on Thursday, January 23, 2024, Dr. Forson stressed the importance of collaboration in tackling Ghana’s economic challenges. The meeting, which followed his swearing-in by President John Dramani Mahama, marked his return to a ministry where he previously served as Deputy Minister.

Describing his appointment as a significant responsibility, Dr. Forson reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians. “We are here to work together to better the lot of the people of Ghana; indeed, we will constantly be mindful of the needs of Ghanaians,” he said.

The Finance Minister outlined key priorities for his tenure, including job creation, fiscal responsibility, exchange rate stability, and reducing inflation. He emphasized that these objectives would be central to addressing the current economic challenges facing the country.
