The Police is rolling out heightened security measures ahead of Eid al-Fitr, deploying officers across key public areas to help ensure a peaceful end to Ramadan.

The Accra Regional Police Command said in a statement Thursday that personnel will be stationed at mosques, designated prayer grounds, major roads, transport hubs and other public places expected to draw large crowds during the celebrations.

Authorities said specialized traffic teams will manage vehicle flow, particularly around prayer venues and commercial centers, in a bid to reduce congestion and improve road safety. Patrol units are also set to increase their presence in neighborhoods across the city to deter crime and respond quickly to incidents.

Police urged residents to remain alert and cooperate with officers, encouraging the public to report suspicious activity. Motorists and pedestrians were advised to observe traffic regulations to help maintain order.
The command extended well wishes to Muslims and the broader public for a peaceful and orderly holiday.
