The management team of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, says it has received assurances from the Presidency that the music icon will be given a befitting burial.

This assurance comes in response to growing public calls for a state funeral to honour Daddy Lumba’s immense contribution to Ghana’s music and creative arts industry.

The celebrated artiste passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at age 60 while receiving treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra.

In a conversation with the media, the musician’s lead manager, Philip Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi (known in entertainment circles as Roman Fada), confirmed that engagements with the Presidency have been positive.

We have received positive feedback from the Presidency and I believe President John Dramani Mahama will respond favourably to the public’s call for a befitting burial,” he noted.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the funeral arrangements as fans, industry stakeholders and colleagues continue to mourn the loss of one of Ghana’s most influential and beloved music icons.
