A book of condolence in memory of the late highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, will be opened today, Monday, July 28, 2025, at his residence and radio station in Accra.

The announcement was made by his manager, Philip Appiah-Kubi (known in showbiz as Roman Fada), in an interview with Citi News on Sunday. According to him, the public is invited to pay their respects.

“The book of condolence will be opened Monday at his radio station, DL 106.9 FM, and at his residence here in Accra. We all love our Daddy Lumba, and we are deeply hurt, but God knows best,” he said.

Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, passed away on Saturday, July 26, at age 60 while receiving treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra.

In a related development, the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) has announced a national candlelight vigil in honour of the music icon. The vigil will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Independence Square, Accra, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The event will form part of a global tribute, with simultaneous ceremonies expected in Germany, the UK, the US, and the Netherlands.

“On behalf of the Creative Arts Agency, we warmly invite you to attend a National Candlelight Vigil in memory of the late Daddy Lumba, Ghana’s Highlife music legend,” the Agency stated.

The CAA noted that the vigil aims to celebrate Daddy Lumba’s enduring legacy and the unifying power of music. Participants have been asked to RSVP by July 31, 2025 to confirm attendance.
